ok,they just put in the new sewage system for the town of lawndale,first part of it,messed up the roads and yards and did not even put in back flo preventers...that is where if something happens to the system it will not back up into your house,i think the people the work at the town hall in lawndale are snakes in other words they are getting rich off the poor.....look at it this way they do not check the water meters like they should...all of them are coverd with dirt??????????.....maybe they do it like this...oh that peice of dirt looks like a 20..lol..they do not do there job the way it should be done...lets say my water bill is $60 a month they base your sewage on that bill so my bill each month would be a $120..thats alot of money....i wish someone would investigate them and fine them if they are doing wrong...ok i had my say for now lets see if anything gets done.........cable33..maybe you could help a person out...thanks..<\/strong><\/div>\r\n

IT is obvious with Sheriff Hamrick's filing that he has no confidence in the two men from his department to do the job. If you will listen to Sheriff Hamrick's interview, he clearly says that Gordon and Norman were using intimidation, threats of termination, and using their position for personal gain. I don't believe that he thinks he can win, or even wants to win. He simply came back in to reign in these two, who were sitting in a current positino of authority within the Sheriff's Department and using their influence to get current deputies to serve as their personal political mouthpieces. I bet now that the Sheriff is back at work, the inner working politics at the Sheriff's office will cease. These two are now no longer sitting at work, campaigning for office at the taxpayer's expense. Sheriff Hamrick and everyone else in the past who ran for this office has done it on their own time, and their own dime. It's time Norman did the same. Thank you Sheriff, for taking control of this situation. <\/strong><\/div>\r\n

Sheriff Hamrick needs to listen to Kenny Rogers song, know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away, know when to run. Gordon and Norman asked him if he was going to run, he told them no. He should be as good as his word. This is no way to treat your employees or the people of Cleveland County. He should look at himself on the Cable33 Newscast, that should be a clue as to whether or not he is able to run. We need a sheriff who is mentally alert and quick to act.<\/strong><\/div>\r\n

A quick look at a comparison between the Star and HLN shows me that HLN delivers the most up to date new out there. Why has the Star not updated its news about the death of an employee at the landfill? Where are they right now with news about the Sheriffs race? Looks to me that Shelby Headline News is on top of the stories they cover. Glad I found them. I will be checking here first for my local news!<\/strong><\/div>\r\n

A NOTE FROM TV33 MANAGEMENT: In reference to the SOUND OFF below, the writer obviously is not a regular viewer of CLEVELAND HEADLINE NEWS. As creator and owner of TV33, I can asuure you that since first signing on the air in 1991, our practice is to record our newscasts as close to airtime as possible. For instance, our weekday MID-DAY and EVENING updates begin airing at 11:24 AM & 5:25, respectively. They're recorded 60-90 prior to airtime. Sometimes, however, our updates are late in airing. Why? Because we are working on a breaking story and want to have it as complete and fresh an update as possible for our viewers. The MORNING, however, is recorded LATE the night before. Why? because our staff is small and must sleep, too. The MORNING show is usually finished around midnight and begins airing at 4:24 AM, still just a few hours after recording. So, no, viewer, we don't tape our newscasts "so far ahead that it's yesterday's news" and it truly puzzles me how you could have reached that conclusion. I guess you are in the minority and not a regular viewer. You should drop by more often. <\/strong><\/div>\r\n

What happened to the so called "NC Education Lottery"? Most of what I am seeing is funding being cut, increasing class sizes, teachers being let go or forced retirements and on and on and on...What I don't see are salary cuts in the administration. I know, I know, they have contracts. Maybe we should consider contracts for our teachers, assistants and all the other great people who work in our school system who "make a difference" and actually care about our children. I am so sick of hearing about all the bailout money our government keeps handing out only to be handled by greedy, corrupt corprate America. How about "bailing out" our schools before it is too late. Our children and their education are too important!!<\/strong><\/div>\r\n

Morale is dead at the Cleveland Co. Sheriff's Office. At least for those who car about there jobs in serving the community. All the good ole boys are living it up with no accountablity and definitely no leadership. People, it's time to think outside the box and elect someone who will actually make a difference. Not just someone that says what you want to hear.<\/strong><\/div>\r\n
