Having a Blast in KM
Teeny weenie yellow polka dot bikini--a song many of us know, also the song played in Kings Mountain as locals spent the day at the beach at Patriots Park.
Cleveland County resident Roxanne Green says her daughter Piper won the 0- to 3-year-old bikini contest, part of Saturday’s 11th annual Beach Blast event, which featured fun for all ages.
Beach day included an assortment of games, rides, woodies and a classic car show, a splash pad to keep cool, lots of music by the Gazebo, art and craft vendors, and of course, food, and a beer garden. Kids showed off their bikinis in the Teenie Weenie Bikini Contest with a chance to win a $25 gift card to Toys-R-Us. Games of beach volleyball and a watermelon-eating contest also had everyone busy for hours—at least until the beach packed up at 10 p.m.
“All the people out here are so nice and everything. It’s really nice,” says attendee Nat Wingfield.
