Who should become Cleveland County’s next distinguished woman? That’s for you to decide.
The Cleveland County Commission for Women will host its 19th Distinguished Women's Banquet scheduled Aug 5. The Commission solicited nominations from the community in search of the county's “Distinguished Women.”
After reviewing numerous submitted applications, the group selected: Suzette Ross who is a community activist and organizer, Sybil Dixon who is a retired educator and poetry enthusiast, Jeanne Patterson an advocate for women and the homeless, and Elizabeth Stewart—a newspaper reporter & leader of national women’s organization.
The banquet will be held at the Cleveland Country Club starting at 6:30 p.m. If you’re interested in attending, tickets are expected to sell out quickly and are available for purchase at the Cleveland County Arts Council for $30.
