Nicole Chapman Back in Court
Nicole Chapman, the 29 year old former North Shelby teacher charged with indecent liberties and sex offense with a student was back in court yesterday making an unusual request.
After the charges were read her attorney asked the court to be cleared so that the proceedings could be private. The ruling from the judge was no. Then the request was made for a plea hearing date. That date was set for November.
The request for the plea hearing means that this saga that began with an arrest in May could indeed be over before the fall Holidays.
The 19-year-old student who told our cameras earlier this year that he loved Chapman and that they were in a relationship was also in court yesterday, but this time he was not as open with cameras as he had been in the past. Chapman remains out on a $75,000 secured bond.
