More jobs headed to CC?

With over 40 years of experience in steel tube manufacturing, one of Canada's top tubing manufacturers breaks into the U.S. with a new plant opening in Kings Mountain called Solaris Industries. The massive industry made it to the area just in time to help lower unemployment rates of in Cleveland County.

“We have a strategic plan and we looked at the surrounding area as far as the surrounding states. We found that there was a lot of marketing opportunity,” says Denis Boulais, president and CEO of Solaris Industries.

Nearly 100 people from state and local levels attended Tuesday’s opening ceremony and ribbon cutting inside the facility. According to Boulais, there are two plants in Canada and the company operates with a customer-centric goal.

Here in Cleveland County, Solaris Inc. started producing steel tubing in the facility nearly a month ago. Solaris already hired their first shift of a dozen people not too long ago. However, over the next two years, the company plans to hire 40-50 more people with a hiring goal of nearly 80 employees in the future. Mayor Rick Murphrey says the city is excited. “we are here to welcome them and extend our hospitality and thank them for bringing jobs to our community and open their new plant. We just can not be any more excited because we need jobs and they are there and just a great company to work for,” says Murphrey.
