Wreck Involving Ambulance Shuts Down Dekalb St.

Why did police closed off Dekalb Street with lots of orange and white construction looking blockades this afternoon?

According to According to Lt. Shannon Price, a wreck involving an ambulance occurred shortly after 12:30 Tuesday afternoon. Price says a Grover ambulance was traveling south on Dekalb street, crossed over the right side of the road, hit a power pole right across from the post office, and kept traveling down the road finally stopping at Bethel Baptist church.

Local authorities have been working to fix the power pole leaving the road closed for nearly four hours. It’s said the transformer was leaking fluid and both the pole and transformer needs to be replaced.

No one was injured in the wreck and the incident is still under investigation.
