A new face in the community
Communities in Schools has a new face.
With more than 16 years of experience with Communities in Schools, the organization welcomed a new Executive Director, Phillis White who says she’s up for the challenge.
“They wanted one person for the executive director. I got selected for the position. I’m very excited about it. I’ve been here for a long time. And I am looking forward to what we are going to be doing this year,” says Phillis White.
White held the interim co-director position for the past year, but according to the organization, White brings knowledge, commitment and passion to help build an even stronger network, making sure all of our youth receive the support they need to stay in school.
Their mission is to focus on drop out prevention by surrounding students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Since 1991, they have been partnering with the community to make sure students graduate on time, prepare for a career, and post-secondary education and life.
